Thanks giving service

Summer seems like it’s started and I don’t know about you, but it’s lifted my spirits.

It always does! I can’t help but be thankful that there is less rain, the days are longer, and the weather is warmer.

As Christmas comes closer and closer, it’s a time of year when we prepare to celebrate and give thanks for the coming of God’s Son Jesus Christ and what that means for the world.

For us at Papakura East we also have the tradition of celebrating the beginnings of our church in our Thanks giving service coming up next Sunday the 19th.

It’s a chance for us to look back and give thanks. It’s a chance for us to look at what we are doing now and give thanks. It’s also a chance for us to look to the future, and give thanks for what God is going to do among us.

As you go about your business this week, consider the past, the present and the future. What it is that God has done in you, through you, and might do through you in the future?

Consider the Apostle Pauls words: ‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.’

It’s going to be a wonderful worship service on the 19th. Our spirits will be lifted and our God will be praised. I’m looking forward to worshiping with you all and fellowshipping in the shared lunch following the service.

In Christ
