7/2/05           Eternity Costs and Life is where you start paying

                                         Topic: Eternity    

Scripture     Acts 14:22     We must go through many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.  

Observation   Barnabas and Paul knew that the Christian life would be hard on believers, both new and mature believers, and encouraging the people in Syria and in the surrounding areas to remain true to Jesus Christ was their main mission in life.   The hardships people would suffer would test their faith, but would also grow and develop their character and deepen their personal relationship with Christ.  

Application  To strengthen and deepen my relationship with God I too must overcome many hardships. Although my access to heaven doesn’t depend on me but on the grace of God, Paul is saying that my life too will not be without some pain and sacrifice.

So for me to gain a deeper personal relationship with Christ I need to make some sacrifices in my life and I can start by sacrificing some sleep by getting up at 6.30am to have my Quite Time.

Response   God please get me out of bed at 6.30 in the morning and into your Word. Amen
