How to Journal
Set aside 15-30mins each day. Chose a time that suits you, strive for uninterrupted time, but it doesn’t matter when, just aim for regularity.
STEP 1: Find the Bible reading corresponding to today’s date from the Bible Reading Program Turn to the chapter in your Bible. Pray asking the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Something like “Lord please speak to me today; help me to be attentive and to listen to what you want to tell me.” Mark off each daily reading as you complete it to keep yourself accountable.
STEP 2: Read the passages. As you are reading note the verse or verses that grab your attention, those words that speak loudest to you, anything the Lord impresses on you as a personal word to be applied to your life.“When you read with an open heart, the Lord will give you words of encouragement, direction and correction.” 2 Timothy 3:16
STEP 3: S.O.A.R When God has revealed a special lesson of life to you, turn to a fresh page in your journal and record what God has revealed to you. Record the date Give it a catchy yet simple title and a topic theme. Then use the following acrostic to help you journal your thoughts.

Observation - Record the content of what is going on in this passage.
Application - Record: How this passage relates to you personally. What is God saying to you through this?
Response - Write a response to God’s word in the form of a prayer.
